Watch The Flash (2014)

Based on the DC Comic series of the same name, "The Flash" follows the story of Barry Allen, an unlikely superhero who, after being exposed to questionable chemicals and struck by lightning at the same time, gains the power of superhuman speed. Thusly, "The Flash" is born in this "Arrow" spinoff series. Allen, who works as a crime scene investigator, capitalizes on his newfound powers. Now, he's not just investigating crime scenes- he's preventing them.

As with many superhero themed shows, Flash is not alone in his endeavors. Barry will work with and face many heroes and villains from the DC universe over the course of the show. Out of these character, Barry eventually forms a team with other heroes to complete his quest.

The show highlights many ups and downs for the hero. Things begin rocky with Barry witnessing a murder of a close relative. In addition to this, he must work to exonerate the suspected perpetrator in order to bring real justice to his family member. This pursuit sets off events that will forever change the life of the scientist Barry Allen. Only the Flash will have the power to set everything right.

The Flash (2014) Full Episode Guide

  • After hearing that Amunet has struck a deal to buy all of the metahumans in Iron Heights, Barry must decide if he should expose his powers in order to save his cellmates. After a visit from an old friend, Ralph is reminded of his shady past and wonders if he's really a changed man.

  • A meta who can shrink anything he touches battles Team Flash. Cisco and Ralph get caught in his crossfire and are shrunk to miniature versions of themselves. Cecile realizes her pregnancy has caused her to have temporary powers and discovers she can hear other people's thoughts, which unnerves Joe. Meanwhile, Barry meets someone with a mysterious connection to Henry Allen.

  • When a familiar villain returns to terrorize Central City, Ralph must rise up to defend the innocent while Barry is detained by his trial. Meanwhile, Barry searches for the strength to keep his optimism alive in the face of his new circumstances.

  • As Barry's trial for the murder of Clifford DeVoe begins, Iris and Joe must decide how far they are willing to go to keep Barry out of prison.

  • Amunet kidnaps Caitlin and puts meta-dampener handcuffs on her to keep her from turning into Killer Frost. Amunet tells Caitlin she needs her to perform a tricky medical task and if Caitlin fails, Amunet will kill her. Meanwhile, The Thinker traps The Flash in a speedster-proof prison. With the clock ticking, The Team doesn't have the time or resources to track both Caitlin and Barry so Iris is forced to choose who to save.

  • Barry and Iris's wedding brings the gang together, but things go awry when villains from Earth-X attack the ceremony. All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold, The Ray, Felicity Smoak, Iris West and Alex Danvers to take on their most formidable villains yet.   • Barry comes face to face with DeVoe. DeVoe's past is revealed through flashbacks. Meanwhile, Iris puts the final touches on the wedding, which is a week away.

  • Barry turns to a surprising ally for help when collectors of Native American artifacts are attacked by a meta who can bring inanimate objects to life. Harry enlists Cisco's help to summon the ultimate think tank to crack the identity of the Thinker.

  • Having received an ominous threat from her old boss, Amunet, Caitlin fears that her past time as Killer Frost may be back to haunt her. Felicity comes to Central City to help the girls celebrate Iris's bachelorette party, while Cisco, Joe and the guys take Barry out for a night on the town.

  • Cisco is shocked when Gypsy's father, Breacher, shows up on Earth-1. Breacher takes an immediate disliking to Cisco and decides to hunt him. Meanwhile, Barry runs into his old nemesis, Ralph Dibny.

  • Barry and the team are hit by a string of bad luck and realize it is the handiwork of a new meta, Becky nicknamed Hazard, who has the ability to give others bad luck, while cashing in the benefits for herself. Meanwhile, Harry Wells returns to Earth-1 to give Wally a message from Jesse.

  • Barry takes on a dangerous meta who can control technology and confronts an obstacle in his personal life: the ramifications of abandoning Iris for six months to balance the Speed Force. Meanwhile, Gypsy prepares for a hot date with Cisco, but she gets annoyed when his work keeps them apart.

  • With Barry in the speed force, Iris, Kid Flash, Joe and Vibe have taken over protecting Central City. However, when a powerful armored villain threatens to level the city if The Flash doesn't appear, Cisco makes a risky decision to break Barry out of the speed force. However, the Barry that comes out isn't the same Barry that went in.

  • With only 24 hours left until Savitar murders Iris, Barry struggles to save the woman he loves and makes the choice to use any means necessary to do so. Realizing he has one option left to save her, The Flash turns to Captain Cold for help.

  • Barry takes drastic measures to stop Savitar. Meanwhile, H.R. continues to push Tracy Brand to design the trap for Savitar and Killer Frost returns with an interesting proposal.

  • Barry and the team meet Tracy Brand, a scientist, who may be the key to stopping Savitar. Unfortunately, Killer Frost is also after Tracy so Team Flash must battle their old friend, which proves to be particularly difficult for Cisco. Joe and Cecile’s relationship takes a big turn.

  • In an effort to save Iris, Barry goes to the future to find out Savitar’s mysterious identity. Upon his arrival in 2024, Barry encounters future versions of his Team Flash friends in the aftermath of Iris's death.

  • The Flash takes on Abra Kadabra, a villain from Earth-19, who wants to cut a deal with him.

  • Barry and the team are shocked when Mon-El and Hank Henshaw arrive on their Earth with a comatose Supergirl who was whammied by the Music Meister. Unable to wake her up, they hope Team Flash can save her.

  • In an effort to stop Savitar and save his friends, Barry seeks answers from the speed force. H.R. counsels Jesse.

  • While training with Barry, Wally begins experiencing visions of Savitar, which he chooses to keep from the team. A dangerous secret could ruin Barry and Iris’ happiness.

  • The Flash and the team fight to stop Grodd and his army of gorillas on Earth-1 before they destroy Central City. Gypsy returns to join the fight. Jesse Quick makes a decision.

  • Barry, Caitlin, Cisco and Julian embark on a rescue mission to Earth-2 to save Jesse Quick's father from Gorilla City.

  • H.R.'s past comes back to haunt him when a bounty hunter, Gypsy, arrives to bring him back to Earth-19 to stand trial for his crime. H.R. surrenders but when Barry and Cisco find out that H.R. must fight Gypsy to the death to survive, they intercede and Cisco offers to fight Gypsy instead.

  • Barry agonizes over his vision of the future where Iris is murdered by Savitar. When a criminal named Plunder shows up in Central City, Barry realizes the villain made an appearance in his vision of the future and fears that if he catches Plunder, it will secure the demise of Iris.

  • Barry is preoccupied with threats from Alchemy and Savitar and unable to focus on the Christmas holiday, and especially his relationship with Iris. Determined to stop Savitar, Barry goes to Earth-3 to get advice from Jay Garrick.

  • In an epic crossover event, Green Arrow, the Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl respond when aliens called the Dominators strike Central City.

  • Caitlin uses her powers to save Barry but her mother's prediction comes true when her inner Killer Frost surfaces. Killer Frost goes on a rampage looking for Dr. Alchemy, abducting Julian and battling both The Flash and Vibe. Meanwhile, Joe and H.R. have a deep conversation.

  • When Wally begins dreaming of being Kid Flash, Barry realizes he must tell the truth to Wally, Iris and Joe about what happened to Wally in Flashpoint.

  • Caitlin visits her mother, Dr. Tannhauser, a renowned biomedical researcher, in an effort to gain clarity about her increasing meta-human powers.

  • Barry allows Jesse to accompany him when a new meta human, Mirror Master, appears on the scene. Mirror Master and his old partner, Top, pair up seeking revenge. Jesse is quick to join the chase but defies one of Barry's orders.

  • Barry and Team Flash are excited to meet up with Earth-2 Wells and Jesse. Wells divulges Jesse's capabilities to Barry and Caitlin and hopes they can talk her out of using her powers.

  • Barry realizes the effects from Flashpoint are more intense than he originally believed. Meanwhile, Barry meets new co-worker Julian Albert and is shocked by his immediate contempt for Barry.

  • In the third season premiere, Barry is finally living his dream life as a "normal" guy. But when he starts forgetting parts of his old life, the Reverse Flash mocks his enemy and tells him that there will be serious consequences for Barry and the ones he loves if he continues to live in this alternate universe.

'The Flash' Comic-Con Preview Shows Just How Fast Grant Gustin Can Run

Grant Gustin is totally getting a ticket for this. This Comic-Con exclusive promo for "The Flash" shows off just how fast the titular superhero can run, and includes a bunch of fun little easter eggs for fans, too. In the promo, we watch a small-town cop sitting in his car, doing a crossword and ignoring a couple of speeders as they go by. Then, the ground starts to rumble, and Barry Allen himself runs by, shattering the poor policeman's car and showing off Flash's speed on the radar gun.

'The Flash' Casts 'Prison Break' Star Wentworth Miller as Villain

It's official: "The Flash" has its first supervillain! "Prison Break" alum Wentworth Miller has been cast as Captain Cold in the CW adaptation of the superhero comic series and "Arrow" spinoff, according to reports coming out of the TCA conference. Those who have read the comics might be surprised to find that the show is being this faithful to the original characters.
